Playa Esterillos Oeste, Costa Rica
About 20 km south of Jaco, a long and fine stretch of beaches known as Esterillos Oeste, Esterillos Centro and Esterillos Este offer blissful seclusions for couples and families who wish to keep to their own company. These beaches of extraordinary beauty are like secret corners of the Central Pacific coast, idyllic, unspoiled, lined by hundreds of palm trees. All three beaches can be accessed from any of the three entrances.
In the hills overlooking the beaches, estate villas with incredible ocean and mountain vistas make perfect vacation homes for families seeking a quiet hideaway or looking to spend quality time together with the children. An assortment of low profile hotels, many with good restaurants and bars, are found on the beach, along with sodas and seafood restaurants.
From the Esterillos beaches you can continue southward to explore other less known jewels like Playa Judas, Playa Bejuco, Playa La Palma, Playa Banderas and Playa Palo Seco, which is just outside of the town of Parrita, a busy and authentic Tico town untouched by tourism.
