For those flying into Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) near San Jose there are connection flights to Tamarindo via Sansa or Nature Air which land at the Tamarindo regional airport 3 km north of town. If driving from San Jose, allow about 5 hours for the 260 km journey.
