Basic groceries are available in Uvita; however, for longer stays, we highly recommend buying fruits and vegetables from the weekly farmers market in San Isidro.

There are two main commercial centers in Uvita and each has a large supermarket where you can find many imported packaged food and beverage items. For fresh vegetables, poultry, meat and seafood, long-time residents usually shop in San Isidro, where a farmers market is held every Thursday and Friday; the fruits and vegetables are excellent, fresh and inexpensive. In the Uvita supermarkets, do not expect the same quality as what you are used to when it comes to red meat, although the quality of poultry and fish are usually acceptable. There is a small-scale farmers market held in the Uvita Stadium every Saturday.
