Do hotels in Costa Rica serve the same type of food like we would expect in an American hotel?
Often we hear comments that the variety of dishes in a hotel restaurant menu is no different from what is served in the streets. Well, they have a point...
Standard menu items are found everywhere, unless you go to a themed restaurant, like Argentinean, Peruvian, Brazilian, Italian, etc. Generally speaking, there is not much creative flair and originality in the culinary field in Costa Rica. The good thing, there is no shortage of comfort foods when you crave for burgers, sandwiches, fried chicken or tacos. Besides, fish and seafood are always fresh and excellent. Most beach hotels and resorts have fresh fish delivered daily so that would surely spice up your beach vacation. If you choose steak or lamb for dinner, chances are 50/50 at best.
