Rental prices in Costa Rica vary greatly with the seasons, which come as Peak, High and Low. In most parts of Costa Rica low season is defined as the ‘green season’ or the rainy season, which covers May and June, September to November, give and take a few weeks for regional variation. July and August are generally considered high season even though they are part of the wet period.

During the low season months, most lodging facilities and private vacation rentals offer significant discounts, some as much as 50%. In exchange for putting up with a few showers, low season tourists enjoy tremendous value for their money in vacation rental accommodation, a cooler climate, greener landscape, less congested restaurants and more solitude on the beaches. Besides, there is still generally plenty of sunshine in the morning during the wet season.
