21 km from Daniel Oduber International Airport, Playa Potrero is a 4-km long bay with serene waters, estuaries and mangroves.

The south end of the bay is home to the Flamingo Marina, the first full service marina on the pacific coast between Acapulco and Panama. At the northern end of the beach, nestled between the hillsides and the gorgeous beach is a small, peaceful fishing community.

5 minutes from Playa Flamingo, Playa Potrero has a quieter atmosphere and is suitable for numerous activities; swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, sportfishing, horseback riding, kayaking or simply walking and admiring sunsets. Potrero Beach is an easy 40-minute drive from the international airport near Liberia; however, coming from San Jose it could take up to 5 hours by car. If you have to land at the international airport near San Jose, consider taking a 45-minute commuter flight to the Tamarindo airstrip, followed by a 20 minutes’ ride by car or taxi to Playa Potrero.
