Just 2.5 km from the heart of Tamarindo, Playa Langosta is separated from Tamarindo by a rocky headland at high tide. From the center of Tamarindo, Langosta can be reached within a 2-minute car ride, a 5-minute bike ride or a 10-minute walk. A quieter version of Tamarindo, Playa Langosta is a haven for vacation villas and condos, all located within a few blocks to the beach; at the beachfront, hotels and bed and breakfasts line the shore. The town has a small number of nice restaurants which are known to draw visitors over from Tamarindo.
Playa Langosta is a blue-flag beach that forms part of the Las Baulas National Marine Park and is an important turtle nesting site. It is also well known among surfers for excellent surf break at the southern end of the beach near the mouth of an estuary. With a mostly rocky shoreline and small pockets of white sandy beach, Playa Langosta is remembered for its natural beauty and as a beach for relaxation and stroll.
