79 km from Daniel Oduber International Airport, the Nosara area has three of the most unspoiled beaches in Costa Rica - Playa Pelada, a small and pretty white sand beach; Playa Guiones, long and expansive with good surf breaks; Playa Nosara, a turtle nesting beach with an estuary and a large mangrove forest that offer endless activities for birdwatchers and nature lovers. There is an airstrip in the outskirt of the village for daily commuter flights from San Jose. For those who are driving from San Jose, allow 5 hours driving for the 228 km journey.
