About Playa Guiones, Guanacaste, Costa Rica

Over 3 miles of white sand with a tranquil and laid back atmosphere, ideal for those seeking rest and relaxation...

Playa Pelada and Playa Guiones are part of the Ostional Wildlife Refuge; hence the first 200 meters of the beaches are free from development. In the forested area behind Guiones beach you will find a sleepy beach town with grocery stores, restaurants, bars, hotels and tour agents offering whale and dolphin watching tours, deep sea sportfishing and snorkeling excursions. Within walking distance from the beaches and town there are houses and villas for rent by the week or month.

Playa Guiones has over 3 miles of white sand and a tranquil and laid back atmosphere, ideal for those seeking rest and relaxation. The beach has been awarded the ecological blue-flag for its pristine condition, and is well loved by both beginner and expert surfers for its consistent waves all year round. At low tide it is possible to cycle on the beach all the way to the southern end, where you'll find tide pools that are large enough to snorkel in.
