Sportfishing at the Los Suenos Resort

The Marina is the home port for a fleet of over 30 licensed charter vessels that specialize in big game sportfishing. The waters off the resort are considered one of the prime bill fishing grounds in the world. Off shore action includes blue marlin, Pacific sailfish, yellow fin tuna, wahoo and dorado. If you prefer inshore fishing you will find plenty of roosterfish, snook, rainbow and blue cubera snappers. The Marine Supply Store provides waterside access to marine materials, equipment, supplies and repairs.

Playing Golf at Los Suenos Resort

La Iguana golf course is a challenging 18-hole, par-72 course designed by Ted Robinson Jr and plays through the resort's private rainforest reserve with breathtaking ocean views, exotic native plants, banana trees, orchids, friendly monkeys and brightly hued macaws. More than 150 species of birds have been identified on the resort’s grounds. La Iguana's caddies are all trained naturalist guides who will be happy to point out the various wildlife species that inhabit the fairways.

Surfing at the nearby Jaco Beach

Surfing is what put Costa Rica's central Pacific coast on the world map, and the local beaches south of Los Suenos attract thousands of visitors monthly. Playa Jacó (10 minutes south of Los Sueños) is perfect for beginner and intermediate boarders. Surf instructors, board rental companies and retailers abound in the town of Jacó. Local tide charts can be obtained from the concierge team.

Canopy Tours in Costa Rica’s National Parks

The canopy tour is perhaps the most unique Costa Rican adventure. Modeled after a pulley system designed by an American wildlife biologist who was looking for an efficient way to study his subjects up close, canopy zip-line tour has evolved into an adrenaline-pumping ride through the treetops via a secure system of zip lines. There are multiple canopy tours located within minutes of Los Sueños Resort.

Horseback Riding Tours around Los Suenos Resort

Morning and afternoon horseback tours take riders to the mountains behind Jaco, where they will experience breathtaking vistas of the coastline and surrounding countryside. In the dry season (December through May), it is possible to visit a private rainforest reserve on horseback that features three beautiful waterfalls.
