What are the people like in Dominical Costa Rica?

The people in Dominical are friendly and pleasant. Here we call the locals “Ticos” and the women we call them “Ticas.”

The people in Dominical will greet you even if they don't know you. They will smile and they will wave. Everyone has time for everybody.

They are generally polite and very welcoming towards visitors. They are also very laid back and cannot be hurried.

The famous Tico greeting “Pura Vida!” not surprisingly is heard everywhere throughout the day.

The Ticos and Ticas in Dominical will go out of their way to help the foreigners in need, regardless of any language barrier. They are especially friendly towards North Americans because of their familiarity with American music, TV and fast foods. Read more on Costa Rican language and culture.
