There is a beach for every taste and purpose. If you surf, Playa Dominical is obviously the best; if you jog, Playa Dominicalito is nice; if you like to be with people, Playa Hermosa is popular with Tico families; for swimmers, Playa Ventanas is safest.

Playa Puerto Nuevo, well known as one of the most attractive beaches along the southern coast, has firm clean sand, a gentle slope and a very picturesque background. Not a long beach, but beautiful, and quiet 99% of the time, great for walking and swimming. On Sundays and holidays it does transform into a busy beach with overnight campers and day visitors.
