Majority of the vacation homes available for rent are located in the Escaleras Hills. Although most offer great views of the Pacific ocean, the steep and unpaved access road to some of these houses can be a challenge, even with a 4x4.

There are however some exceptions; our Dominical vacation rental listings include a few villas that are situated at less than a kilometer from the coastal highway; the view is just as great, but you do not need to break your back getting there. This is especially true with the Canto Del Mar villas above Playa Dominicalito; the access road to this community is only 150 meters from the highway; you can walk to the beach in 5 to 15 minutes depending on how high up the villa is; the highest level, at about 450 feet above sea level, is about 15 minutes from the beach on foot; the Pacific Rainforest Villa is located here. If your villa is on the lowest level, at about 200 feet, such as the Pacific Breeze Villa, you can jog down to the beach in less than 5 minutes.
