    Description

2 Bedroom 1 Bath casita on 1.23 acres with spectacular ocean and mountain views and is just a 10-minute walk from Playa Guiones. This house on Finca Balzano sleeps 6 and has a most stunning view of the Pacific Ocean all day, complimented by a fabulous sunset, every evening! This location must be seen to be believed. And that's only the begining!

The house has a large open space,(kitchen, dining and living room) with stunning wood vaulted ceilings, and French doors that open to a large tiled deck that faces the west and the beautiful Pacific Ocean. The house has recently had installed full internet access, for your convenience. It has two large bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed and the other with 2 twin beds; a large living room with a futon that can sleep two, and dining area, complete with three inch thick, eight foot bar and stools, all kept comfortable by a huge overhead vent and skylight with ceiling fans.

The kitchen is fully-equipped and has custom, handmade cabinets on three sides, a gas stove, microwave, blender, etc. All of the floors are covered with fine Italian ceramic tile with a carpet pattern in the living room and all of the ceilings are vaulted wood. The bathroom has a huge eight foot by five foot shower stall. All of this is surrounded on two sides by a large, outdoor, tiled deck which affords one the greatest views imaginable.

The house is then surrounded by lush tropical gardens and secured by custom designed and built steel outside door and window grates. The yard is beautifully landscaped and there is a laundry. There is also an outdoor shower. The house includes linens and maid service once a week. A gardener maintains the grounds one or two days a week. The house is situated about 200 feet above sea level which affords an open view of 180 degrees of the Pacific Ocean.

The property has frontage on the main road and a path to the beach, which is a 10-minute walk. There are ocean views from three sides of the house. There is a gated parking area in the back. The yard is just loaded with wildlife. Howler monkeys abound as do Armandillos, Iguanas, Centosaurs, Parrots, Humingbirdsand of course, Coatimundis (Pisotes).

    Special Mention:

Thick rich forests grow in areas that were once razed for the benefit of cattle. Today Nosara's "Proyecto Americano" is a perfect example of responsible planning and development. It serves as a model for planned growth and development to other areas of Costa Rica.

The Nosara Civic Association was established to guard the interests of residents and the environment. As a result Nosara enjoys the cleanest water table in Costa Rica,
The ocean water with no dumping of gray or black water into streams or beaches (not true in all areas of Costa Rica), regularly scheduled garbage collection, and excellent health & educational services for the townspeople.

The Playas Guiones and Pelada are part of the Ostional Wildlife Refugewhich protects the Oliver Ridley turtles, who come in hordes to lay their eggs. This means that the first 200 meters of the beach is protected from development, as can be seen on Guiones. The Refuge consists of 8 miles of beach, 3 miles of ocean, and includes Playas Guiones, Pelada, Nosara and Ostional (south to north).

The pueblo of Nosara sits just north of the Rio Nosara, 4 kilometers from the beaches and is characterized by the centrally located soccer field, school, churches, groceries, restaurants and bars. The short drive to town is worth the trip.

Playa Guiones has over 3 miles of white sand beach, with lush natural forest along its shores. It is part of the Ostional Wildlife Refuge and is protected from construction in the 200 meter zone. It is known for its good, consistent surfing all year. About half way down the beach there are tidal pools for snorkeling during low tide or just hanging out.

Playa Pelada is a shorter, more intimate beach and has shaded areas ideal for watching the blowhole. There are bat caves around the point on the north end, accessible at low tide.

Surfing is for the experienced due to the rocks. Purchase fresh fish from the local fishing fleet here. There is an easy path that connect Guiones & Pelada by just a minute's walk.

Playa Nosara is not an easy place to get to, but well worth the effort. The beach starts at the river mouth, and is the most remote of the beaches, with access only by foot or horse. One has to walk across the river mouth, best at low tide, to get to this black sand beach. You will see the local fishermen using old fishing techniques at the river mouth.
