Playas (Beaches) de Nosara" is a rare dry tropical rain forest, surrounded by mountains and rivers; and is located on the Pacific coast of the Nicoya Peninsula in Guanacaste. Whether it is due to the consistent surfing waves or the tranqulidad, it is not unusual for visitors to choose to not leave and instead spend their entire vacations enjoying the beaches, restaurants & bars of Playa Guiones & Playa Pelada.
Unspoiled, tropical beauty is what best describes Nosara. Imagine miles upon miles of spectacular white sand beaches. This is where the very best of Costa Rica comes alive: stunning sunsets, one of the largest nesting grounds in the world for the Olive Ridley turtle, the sunniest and clearest skies in the country, birds, iguanas, monkeys, a naturalist's haven.
The pueblo of Nosara sits just north of the Rio Nosara, 4 kilometers from the beaches and is characterized by the centrally located soccer field, school, churches, groceries, restaurants and bars. The short drive to town is worth the trip.
There are two large grocery stores, Super Nosara & Super La Paloma. in the town of Nosara, approximately 4 kilometers from the beach area. Another, Super Dos Lorenas, is located in Esperanza. We have two mini-supers in the beach area: Super Mini in Playa Guiones and Pancho's in Playa Pelada.
The beaches of Nosara are internationally recognized for excellent surfing. Whale and dolphin watching, deep sea sport fishing and snorkeling are some of many activities you can enjoy in the ocean. Nosara features a Yoga institute for those who prefer a more relaxed experience. Nosara's nightlife is part of the overall experience of your visit to Nosara.
