    Description

Villa Katarina is located in a gated community just 2 miles south of Dominical, perched on a rainforest hillslope overlooking the one-kilometer long Dominicalito Beach, which is 10 minutes' walk away. The view of the Pacific Ocean from here is  simply stunning, a totally unobstructed 180 degree panorama. And all around the villa are trails and backcountry roads where you can walk for miles while being embraced by nature.

The villa offers 2 bedrooms, both furnished with a queen size bed and come with ensuite bath and shower. There is also a double-size futon bed in the TV lounge that can sleep two additional persons. In addition to the TV lounge another cable  TV is found in the main sitting room. The kitchen is fully equipped with all modern amenities. There is a dedicated laundry room with washer and dryer. A 3G cell phone can be provided for internet connection with your own PC laptop upon request.

Villa Katarina and Pacific Sunset Villa are two villas that offer the most spectacular ocean view in this exclusive 35-villa community, and together they make a great choice for a two-family vacation, accommodating up to 11 people.

The community features 24-hour security with foot patrol, gated and manned entry, which is just 200 meters from the coastal main road turnoff. The villa is easily accessed year-round; however, due to the rapid rise from sea level to about 500 ft elevation, a four wheel drive will be needed.  Travel time from the San Jose international airport is 3.5 hours and from the Quepos regional airport is 40 minutes. Dominical town is a 4-km drive away, which offers a dozen restaurants and a few convenience stores. Large supermarkets and weekly farmers market are available in Uvita, about 7 miles south of the villa. Within a 15-minute drive north and south of the villa you will discover a dozen wonderful beaches, some near deserted, some popular with surfers and others attract weekenders. This is an excellent base for those who plan to visit both Corcovado National Park (2 hours) and Manuel Antonio National Park (45 minutes).

Popular tours and activities int he area include horseback riding through the jungle and on Hermosa Beach, whales and dolphins sighting tours, Wildlife Refuge nature walk and hiking tours, canopy ziplines, and most popular of all, surfing for all levels from beginners to experts.

    2. Hi Elaine, Been so busy, but wanted to thank you for the amazing place! Absolutely amazing! The view of the beach from the windows is fantastic! We had a great time. When we come back we will definitely stay there again.

    1. The villa was lovely, top notch really. I loved the design. I would buy food in the larger city of Jaco or San Isdro because Uvita/Quepos/Dominical didn't have much of a selection of fresh meat/veggies/seafood. We did eat at Cuna del Angel Hotel at night, excellent food! Best on the trip. We spent most of our time in Manuel Antonio, a canopy tour and Don Luis horseback tour(all excellent) with a few beaches by the villa. The park beaches closed at 4pm so we did not go but found out on the last day by a local that you still can go there because there is not gate or attendant. We also found that some of the hotels in Manuel Antonio would allow you to swim at the their pool if you ate at the restaurant, which was a huge bonus to us travelling with two 12 year olds. I would recommend this villa for travellers seeking solitude and surfing but you really need a car.
